Over 100 years ago, the building known as the Palace Livery provided a vital service making it a unique gathering place for residents of and travelers to southwest Michigan.

Over a century later, the former head brewer of the Kraftbrau Brewery in Kalamazoo, Mchigan, Steve Berthel, and his partner Leslie Pickell, will be proud to open the doors of Michigan’s newest Microbrewery, “The Livery”. They are looking to recreate this venue with the same goal in mind - a special gathering place for the people of southwest Michigan and beyond!

Located at 190 5th street, in the Arts District of downtown Benton Harbor, Michigan, the Livery will feature a coffee shop and deli-style Café, 2 separate pubs, outside seating in our beer garden, wireless internet access, and you will be able to enjoy live entertainment in Southwest Michigan’s finest 200-seat venue. Some of the national recording Artists slated for the summer season are: Corey Harris, Alvin Youngblood-Hart, the Robbie Fulks Band, Special Consensus, and others TBA.

Steve will be brewing his award-winning ales and lagers at his on-site 7bbl. brewery and for those that prefer it, he will also be making wines and ciders. Look for many interesting and obscure seasonal beers, and many styles that you will not find in any other brewery! We will have a mug club for those dedicated beer fans and lots of cool logo’ed merchandise.

Combine all these things and you will see why The Livery will be the place to be in Southwest Michigan!
